Coats are not something I’ve ever had to worry about… But since I’ve moved to Nashville I’ve found myself over-wearing the only “coat” I have. A ski jacket that I got about 3 years ago. It’s black, huge, and ugly. It’s the classic North Face jacket that you tell your mom to buy for you and swear it’ll be a good investment, and then you go skiing once and break your elbow and never go again. And then for years you just have this giant coat for the rare occasion of ice in Texas.
I’ve also never been into fall or winter fashion, mainly because I never needed to be since Texas has two seasons: hot as hell or mild. But now that I have to bundle up I’m getting way more into the winter trends. However, they’re super expensive. If someone gave me a few thousand and told me I could only spend it on coats, that would be sublime. Unfortunately, that’s not likely to happen so instead, I’ve put together my favorite coats under $200.
THE CLASSIC TRENCH
The perfect starter coat. I began with the classic black and am moving my way up to the statement coat. The big leagues.
THE PUFFER JACKET
Plays well with the ‘casual-running-errands’ look or dresses down a silk skirt and sweater.
THE COZY-LINED JACKET
I love these coats for transitioning into spring. If I were still living in Texas, this is the kind of jacket I’d get for our colder days.
THE FAUX FUR/TEDDY BEAR COAT
So cozy + the perfect statement coat.
